Biling FA201 Solar Pond Filter – 20 W, flow rate up to 875 l/h
The Biling FA201 solar pond filter is a practical solution for circulation, as well as mechanical and biological water filtration, for small to medium-sized garden ponds. The system combines a 20W solar panel, a submersible pump, a filter box, filter sponges, bio-balls, and ceramic filter media. It helps trap debris, keep the water in motion, and create a healthier environment for fish and aquatic plants.
Under optimal sunlight, the pump achieves a flow rate of up to 875 l/h and a head height of up to 1.5 m. The package includes 4 interchangeable fountain nozzles, extension tubes, a 2m hose, and a 5m cable, which allows the panel to be placed in a sunny spot away from the pond. Both the flow rate and nozzle height can be adjusted to the water depth and the desired water effect.
The filter box must remain fully submerged, ideally approximately 20–30 cm below the surface, while the nozzle extends above the water. The model does not have a built-in battery and operates directly according to the intensity of the sunlight. The recommended pond volume is approximately 600–2,500 liters.
20W solar panel
The high-performance 20W solar panel powers the pump directly using solar energy. You can therefore use the filtration system even in places where there is no electrical outlet available, such as by a garden pond, fountain, or natural water feature.
The FA201 model does not contain a built-in battery. The pump therefore only operates in sufficient sunlight, and its performance may vary depending on the light intensity, the positioning of the panel, and the current weather.
Water flow rate up to 875 l/h
Under optimal light conditions, the pump achieves a flow rate of up to 875 liters per hour. This helps keep the water in motion, promotes oxygenation, and reduces the formation of stagnant zones in the pond.
Regular circulation also ensures more efficient water flow through the filtration system, where impurities are captured and natural biological processes are supported.
Recommended filter installation depth
For optimal operation, we recommend placing the filter box at a depth of approximately 20–30 cm so that it remains completely submerged and the fountain nozzle protrudes above the surface. In deeper ponds, the filter can be placed in a shallower area or stabilized on flat stones or a suitable pedestal.
Mechanical and biological filtration
The filtration system combines filter sponges, biological filter balls, and ceramic filter media. This combination helps trap coarser debris while providing space for the growth of beneficial bacteria that promote natural water purification.
Mechanical filtration traps visible debris, while biological filtration helps improve water quality and create a healthier environment for fish, aquatic plants, and the pond's entire ecosystem.
Fountain, stream, or small waterfall
The package includes 4 interchangeable fountain nozzles, a diverter valve, and a 2-meter hose. This allows you to use the filter not only for water circulation and filtration, but also to create a decorative fountain, a small waterfall, or a garden stream.
The water flow can be adjusted according to the size of the pond, the chosen nozzle, or the desired water effect. You can thus easily adapt the filter to your specific application and the appearance of your garden.
Displacement of up to 1.5 meters
The pump can push water up to a height of 1.5 meters, providing sufficient power for most common garden fountains, smaller waterfalls, and raised water features.
Actual performance depends on the intensity of sunlight, the height difference, the length of the hose, the cleanliness of the filter, and the flow setting. For the best results, we recommend regularly cleaning the filter and pump and placing the solar panel in the sunniest location possible.
Flexible installation thanks to 5m cable
Thanks to the 5-meter cable, you can place the solar panel in the spot with the best sunlight, while the filter with the pump remains in an optimal position in the pond. Installation is simple and does not require any complex structural modifications.
Simply plug in the pump, place the filter box in the water, set the desired water effect, and point the solar panel towards the sun.
Suitable for ponds, fountains, and ornamental basins
Biling FA201 is suitable for small to medium-sized garden ponds, ornamental water reservoirs, fountains, bird baths, small waterfalls, and other water features without an electricity supply.
As a guideline, it is suitable for ponds with a volume of 600–2500 liters. For heavily stocked ponds, very dirty water, or ponds in direct sunlight, more frequent filter cleaning, additional aeration, or a more powerful filtration system may be required.
Easy filter maintenance
To ensure the filter functions correctly over the long term, we recommend regularly cleaning the filter sponges, checking the ceramic media, and removing debris from the pump. A clean filter ensures better water flow and more efficient filtration.
It is advisable to keep the solar panel free of dust, pollen, and leaves so that it can absorb as much solar energy as possible. The frequency of maintenance depends on the size of the pond, the number of fish and plants, and the amount of debris in the water.
Important operational information
The FA201 model only operates in sufficient sunlight, as it does not contain a built-in battery for energy storage. In the shade, under cloudy skies, or in the evening, the pump's performance will decrease or the pump may stop altogether.
For optimal performance, we recommend placing the solar panel in direct sunlight and regularly checking the cleanliness of the filter, the pump, and the panel itself.
Dry-running protection
The pump is equipped with dry-run protection, which helps protect the device in the event of low water levels. This feature reduces the risk of pump damage and contributes to more reliable operation.
For proper functioning, it is important that the filter box with the pump is always sufficiently submerged in water. We recommend checking the water level regularly, especially during hot summer days.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Yes, the pump can operate even under slightly overcast skies, but its performance depends on the intensity of the sunlight. It reaches maximum performance in direct sunlight.
No. The FA201 model does not include a battery for energy storage. The pump is powered directly by the solar panel and only operates under sufficient sunlight.
The filter is recommended for garden ponds with a volume of approximately 600 to 2500 litres. The actual suitability also depends on the number of fish, plants, and the overall water pollution level.
Yes. Thanks to biological and mechanical filtration, it helps create a healthier environment for goldfish, crucian carp, koi carp, and other ornamental fish.
The frequency of cleaning depends on the size of the pond and the amount of debris. In general, we recommend checking the filter cartridges regularly and rinsing them with clean water if necessary.
Yes. The package includes 4 fountain nozzles, a diverter valve, and a 2-meter hose, which allow you to create a fountain, a small waterfall, or another water feature.
The maximum pump head is up to 1.5 meters. The actual height of the water column depends on the intensity of sunlight and the selected accessories.
Yes. The pump allows for flow regulation, so you can adjust the flow intensity according to the size of the pond or the desired water effect.
The system includes a 5-meter cable, which allows for the solar panel to be placed in the sunniest spot while maintaining the optimal position of the pump in the pond.
No. The entire system runs on solar energy and does not require a connection to the power grid.
No. The filter is designed for simple installation without special tools. Just place the filter in the pond, connect the solar panel, and point the panel toward the sun.
Because the FA201 model does not contain a battery, the pump will automatically stop after a significant decrease in light intensity or after sunset. It will automatically restart when sufficient sunlight returns.
